AEIOU Interpreter Training Program
The total cost for the Community Interpreter International and Medical Interpreter Program is $800 each. This price includes: 40 hours of instruction, textbooks, language assessment, and certificate of completion.
WHAT IS COMMUNITY and MEDICAL INTERPRETING?
Community Interpreting includes medical, educational and social services interpreting. Interpreters in this field help to ensure that Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals have equal access to community services. Medical Interpreting is a specialization of community interpreting and occurs in healthcare settings.
WHY BECOME A COMMUNITY or MEDICAL INTERPRETER?
Interpreting is one of the fastest growing professions in the world. To become a qualified interpreter in the field completing an accredited 40 hour training program is considered the minimum requirement. This program is also a prerequisite to take the National exam for certification.
WHO CAN ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM?
Anyone who is at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and is fluent in English and one other language.
HOW CAN I ENROLL?
Simply enroll on the Bookings page. Afterwards you will receive confirmation and an invitation to take the language assessment. You will receive your book(s) a week before class. You may choose to receive a physical copy or lifetime access to an electronic copy. After successfully completing the program you will be a "Professionally Trained Interpreter", qualified to take the National Exam and become certified in the field.
